Snail Trek – Chapter 1: Intershellar

Snail Trek – Chapter 1: Intershellar is the first in a series of “20 minute adventures” where you take on the role of a crew of snails on a journey to a new home world.

In the style of the early Sierra Online adventure games, Snail Trek has colorful EGA-ish graphics and a text parser interface. Relive the nostalgia in these bite-sized adventures – but without all the pain. Autosaves, a text parser with auto-suggest, and puzzles with no dead ends, all combine to bring this old genre into the modern era.

In Chapter 1, you arrive at the lettuce-covered (or so you hope) planet. But something is amiss. Your ship has been damaged and you may not be able to land at all! Meanwhile, your home world is dying, and your entire civilization is waiting for your report on this new planet. Is it really a lettuce-covered paradise?

Key Features

  • Autosaves – no need to save every few minutes (though you still can if you want).
  • A text parser with both auto-suggest and auto-correct – fat finger your way to puzzle glory (but you can turn them off if you want to suffer more greatly).
  • A text parser that understands what objects are in front of you, so you can be lazy and just type things like ‘get’ or ‘look’.
  • CRT emulation mode that gives those pixels an ever-so-slightly fuzzy look.
  • A stereophonic score.
  • Cute snails.
  • Deaths (but hey, autosaves).
  • No dead ends! Puzzle your way around with impunity!
  • Widescreen aspect ratio, since monitors are more rectangular now.

Miles & Kilo

After their plane is downed by a mischievous specter, Miles and Kilo find themselves stranded on a haunted archipelago. With their plane stripped of its critical components, their only hope of escape is to chase down a gang of thieving villains across the perilous landscape.

Miles & Kilo is a super tough, super fast-paced platformer by Michael Burns. Each of the game’s 36 levels can be cleared without stopping, making it a perfect choice for fans of speedrunning!

Both Miles and Kilo have their own diverse sets of moves and abilities: Miles can wall-jump, slide, punch, and toss fruit at pesky critters; Kilo can somersault through breakable walls and dash through the air to pounce on nearby baddies. Levels also feature a variety of rides, including mine carts, rope swings, surfboards, and more!

A special Time Attack mode is unlocked after beating the game. Here you can compete with your fellow gamers via online Steam leaderboards — can you finish the game with the fastest possible time and the lowest number of deaths?

Miles & Kilo features 31 normal levels, 5 special boss levels, a dozen old-school style cutscenes, and a totally rad chiptune soundtrack by Chris Kukla.

Battle For Korsun

January 1944. The German Army had their last toehold on the Dneiper River. This salient projected between two powerful Soviet army groups, the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts. Though weakened in their previous efforts against the Germans, on January 25th and 26th, these two powerful groups attacked and surrounded two German corps.

The Germans responded quickly to this threat, hurrying reinforcements from other sectors. Their relief drive made good initial progress, but stalled in the face of stiff Soviet resistance and both sides antagonist, “General Mud”. In the end, the trapped Germans made a desperate break out attempt from the pocket. Less than half of the encircled forces escaped the trap, with none of their heavy weapons or equipment.

Battle For Korsun is a simulation of these battles in January and February 1944. Players control the various German and Soviet forces which took part in these struggles. The Soviet player must coordinate the offensives of his Fronts to encircle the Germans quickly, before the Germans powerful reinforcements arrive. The German player must form a pocket perimeter, then orchestrate his relief drive with his Panzer divisions to rescue their trapped comrades

Pound of Flesh

“Hello! Thank you for your interest in the house on Dry Skull Road. The house is fully furnished and recently remodeled. The property was just conveyed to the local bank and they are selling it for a very reasonable price. I hope you dig it!
P.S. Don’t let the name scare you. The road was nothing but a farm once upon a time, that’s all. I promise it will be every bit as “groovy” as your place in the city.”

After a long drive, you arrive at the house late into the night. You decide to check the place out a little before sleeping off your driving fatigue. The large house is fully furnished and in good condition but there are a few discrepancies: there is a locked room in the corner of the house, the attic seems to have had the pull string cut, and there is even a damaged wall in the basement, shoddily repaired with boards and boxes.

Now too sleepy to carry on, you lie down to sleep only to be woken by a knock on the window. A note has been slid through the slit in the window. It warns you of the others in the house. It’s been a long time since they have eaten, and they each have their favorite “foods”. To survive, you may have to offer them parts of yourself. Your teeth, your hair. I hope you weren’t too “attached” to them. You won’t be for long. The doors and windows are locked and there is no way out. The note has promised to help you to escape. You just have to find a way to survive. Make your offering to them. Give them your pound of flesh. Or they will take much more than that.

Run and hide. Dodge them or distract them with some “food”. Survive the night. Be careful, though. Your “resources” are limited.
